What the law is now
The US Copyright Office announced the start of the 10th Triennial Rulemaking Proceeding under Section 1201 of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 1201). The triennial rulemaking determines which classes of copyrighted works are exempt from the DMCA's anti-circumvention and anti-trafficking prohibitions for a three-year period.
